We are a homegrown Washington-based operation, started more than three decades ago by our present Chairman and native Washingtonian, Z.J. Chelec. Since then, Zalco's total business focus, operations, planning and expansion have remained immersed in the greater-Washington market. Our current management and leasing portfolio of over 100 properties, supported by over 600 personnel, is located entirely in the Washington metropolitan area. Most of our executive team and many of our other senior personnel were also born and raised in the Washington area, and have spent their entire professional careers there, some with nearly 40 years of local industry experience.

After providing so many services to so many different players and properties in metropolitan Washington over the past 30-plus years, our in-house professionals have amassed an invaluable cumulative database of local-market knowledge and information, while also cultivating an extensive proprietary network of industry relationships throughout the Richmond/Washington/Baltimore corridor. With our extensive leasing and management portfolio we remain heavily tied into the entire marketplace at all times, which means that these same resources are continuously updated and augmented in the normal course of business.
